Waffles can be easily individualized to have specific flavors of the day including matcha, chocolate, fruit, and more. They also keep well to make into toast or bread pudding later as desired.

Egg | 2 large |
Milk | 1 3/4 Cup |
Butter, unsalted | 1/2 Cup, melted |
Flour, All Purpose | 2 Cups |
Sugar, white granulated | 1 - 2 tbsp. to taste |
Baking Powder | 4 tsp. |
Vanilla Extract | 1 tsp |
Optional: Almond Extract | 1 tsp. |
Optional: Matcha Powder, culinary grade | 2 tbsp. |
Optional: Cocoa Powder | 1/4 cup to replace equal amount of flour |
Optional: Chocolate Chips or Fruit of Choice | 1/2 - 1 Cup |
1. In a small or medium bowl, mix together dry ingredients 2. Whisk eggs until light and almost foamy, then whisk together with other wet ingredients. Note, the butter must be added at room temperature and while whisking so that it does not re-harden 3. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet, while whisking, and mix until smooth 4. Pour approx. 1/4 - 1/2 Cup of batter onto a heated and greased waffle iron and cook until the edges are browned and crispy 5. Serve immediately or store on a baking sheet in a warm oven until ready to serve with the toppings of your choice
